Through our silent auction, you will have the opportunity to bid on three unique GPD experiences.
The K-9 Experience: During the K-9 Experience, you'll head out with members of our K-9 unit as they run their furry partners through a series of training exercises designed to showcase their tracking abilities and agility. And when they're finished, you may even be able to get a few pointers on training your own pet!
The CSI Experience: Live out your ultimate crime-solving dreams through the CSI Experience! GPD investigators will walk you through the forensic investigation of a crime scene. You'll learn about their techniques, specialized equipment, and finally discover if your favorite TV shows are doing it right!
The SRT Call Out Experience: The GPD Special Response Team (SRT) is a 31-member SWAT Team who are specially trained to deploy against threats and situations that are deemed "high risk" and beyond the capabilities of ordinary police units. These officers and medics are extremely proficient with tactics and weapons that far exceed standard training. Through this experience, you will learn what it means to be an SRT Operator. Spend over 4 hours training with the best that the GPD has to offer, moving as a member of the team, and learning roles, tactics, and weapon operation.
Lights & Sirens Kids' Hour | 4:30-5:30 PM | Sponsor Exclusive
As a special benefit for our Blue Salute sponsors, we're thrilled to invite you to bring your children or grandchildren to our Lights & Sirens Kids' Hour-an exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience with the Greensboro Police Department!
From 4:30 to 5:30 PM, kids will have the opportunity to:
- Meet real police officers.
- Get to know some awesome police dogs, including the very cuddly K9 Officer Porter.
- Explore police cars and armored vehicles.
- Watch bomb robots in action.
- Learn about cool police technology.
