Greensboro Police Foundation Announces DeJoy-Wos Family Foundation as Title Sponsor of Annual Fundraiser

Greensboro, NC – The Greensboro Police Foundation is pleased to announce that the Louis DeJoy and Aldona Wos Family Foundation will be the Title Sponsor of its annual fundraiser, The Blue Salute.  This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 7 PM at a new venue, the Piedmont Hall. “We are happy to once again have the DeJoy-Wos Family Foundation as the Title sponsor of the Blue Salute. They have been a long-time supporter of the Greensboro Police Foundation and have helped fund initiatives since our inception in 2012 – the first of which being the outfitting of the entire GPD patrol force with body cameras. We appreciate their commitment to our mission, and are grateful for their sponsorship of The Blue Salute 2021,” said Greensboro Police Foundation President, Dr. Patty Potter.

In 2020, despite the cancellation of The Blue Salute due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greensboro Police Foundation was able to raise enough funds to purchase new equipment for the Greensboro Police Department: an urban response vehicle and a state-of-the-art mobile firearms training simulator.

The proceeds from The Blue Salute 2021 will be used to support the long-running programs of the Greensboro Police Foundation, including major equipment grants, scholarships, officer recognition activities, and community outreach initiatives.
