The Blue Salute

The Greensboro Police Foundation is hosting the 3rd-annual Blue Salute presented by the DeJoy-Wos Family Foundation. This is the foundatin’s primary fundraising event to support the Greensboro Police Department.
On Saturday, Sept. 30 from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Piedmont Hall in the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, supporters of the Greensboro Police Foundation will gather for an evening of fun and fundraising for equipment and resources to support the Greensboro Police Department.
Previously, funds raised from the Blue Salute have been used to purchase an urban response vehicle, a firearms training simulator for the public safety training facility, and pedal go-karts for Safety Town at Barber Park. Park. It also provides funding for GPF’s sustained programs like the quarterly recognition luncheons, Operation Yuletide, and the memorial flower fund.
Greensboro Police officers will greet guests with demonstrations and exhibits of police technology and equipment, such as the mobile command center, urban response vehicle, motorcycles, and ATVs. Members of the SWAT and CSI teams will also talk with guests about their specialized skills and methods.
During the live auction, guests can bid on unique police experiences not offered anywhere else, such as a K9 experience, a day with CSI or the SWAT team, and more. There will also be heavy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, live music by the Java Band, and dancing.
