The Greensboro Police Foundation is proud to announce that it has donated two mobile video trailers (MVT) to the Greensboro Police Department (GPD), a gift worth $54,000.

Greensboro Police partners with LexisNexis Risk Solutions to provide a Community Crime Map tool to the public.

In September of 2022, the Greensboro Police Department partnered with Zencity to launch a new public survey tool, “Blockwise”, to better understand local concerns, attitudes, and trust in their local police officers.

Chief Thompson will host a series of community meetings beginning February 20th and continuing through March 9th .

We are grateful that we were able to gather in person this past year. It restored a level of impact to our work that had been lost during the pandemic years.

The Greensboro Police Department has received the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) Grant.

After conducting a competitive, national search and extensive interview process, Greensboro City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba announced Assistant Chief John Thompson will serve as the next Greensboro Police Chief. Thompson, succeeds Brian James who retired in April 2022.
